Neil Tennant y Chris Lowe se conocieron en una tienda de electrónica en 1981 y decidieron formar un grupo. El nombre les parecía propio de un grupo de rap y por eso lo usaron. La ironía, la ambigüedad y el humor han formado siempre parte de su modus operandi. Sus canciones son para disfrutar en casa o en la discoteca y al principio se negaban a hacer conciertos. Como herederos indirectos de Kraftwerk, detestan el rock y su energía escénica.

Este tema fue lanzado originalmente en 1983 producido por Bobby Orlando (productor de Divine y experto en el tema underground) pero fue un fracaso excepto en los garitos de ambiente Neoyorkinos. En 1985 lo lanzaron otra vez con algún cambio en el sonido y fue nº1 en todo el mundo.

Aunque su época dorada fueron los 80’s, PSB aún siguen sacando discos más que decentes.

Madonna hizo una canción muy similar en el 2005 (Jump, dedicada a Chris Lowe) en su disco Confessions on the dance floor de sonido muy ochentero. PSB le devolvieron el favor remezclando el tema Sorry y haciendo She’s Madonna con Robbie Williams. El tema en cuestión trata sobre las excusas que Guy Ritchie le contó a su mujer cuando la abandonó por Madonna. Rebuscado.
